SARAH FARRAR
PAINTING • MIXED MEDIA • MURALS
Sarah was born in Savannah, Ga. and raised in the small Lowcountry town of Estill, S.C. She earned a bachelor's degree from Clemson University and a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Science from The Medical University of S.C. Even before she practiced Occupational Therapy, Sarah has always had a passion for art. Like her grandmother (a painter) and her oldest brother (an artist and graphic designer), Sarah found her drive and her balance in the art of painting. Creating works that are both colorful and full of emotion, Sarah is constantly driven to explore what objects and ideas inspire her. Sarah is drawn to the challenge and unique coordination of color, light, balance, and mood. Her mediums of choice are mixed including acrylic or gouache layered with charcoal, ink and oil pastels on paper or stretched canvas.
Sarah is constantly driven to explore what objects and ideas inspire her. Initially, her inspirations came from her childhood summers spent in the coastal town of Bluffton, SC. She has enjoyed painting landscapes or objects such as oysters, birds, old barns, and florals using acrylic on canvas. Sarah also has a love for abstracts. Her medium of choice with her work is primarily acrylic, but often they are layered with watercolor or gouache, and accented with charcoal, oil pastels and ink on paper, canvas or wood panel.
In the past year, murals and hand-painted patterns on walls have become a favorite. Sarah loves the challenge, and is especially drawn to the unique coordination of color, light, balance, and mood in both residential and commercial spaces.
“Painting brings peace and balance to my life. My hope is that the work that I create will bring joy to the lives of those who invest in it."
"I truly embrace entering the world of art from an outside field. Because of this, I feel more ‘free’ in my art and open-minded in my approach. As an artist and former healthcare professional, I believe that art has the power to inspire, heal, provoke, and offer hope. The arts have brought so much to my life. It is a desire that my work brings joy to those who invest in it. I believe that is called success and what being an artist is all about.”

COMMISSION MURALS & ARTWORK
If you are looking for an alternative to wallpaper, hand-painted walls by a professional is definitely the way to go! I have a beginning base price for most commercial or residential projects with 8-14 foot ceilings and within a 20-mile radius of the city of Greenville. If you have a larger project or one that is over 20 miles away from the center of Greenville, SC, more specific terms will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Along with painting murals, I offer commissions for florals, landscapes, abstracts, portraits, figure studies, and still life. I prefer meeting clients in person but can also arrange virtual meetings and work from photos or videos. Please fill out the contact form on my website with your desired size, color choices, and other details. A signed agreement and a 50% deposit is required once a price is determined. I will then order supplies and begin your commission, which typically takes 8-12 weeks. Clients can request one small change to their painting; additional changes will incur a fee. For rush orders, a rush fee will apply. I aim to ensure every client is completely satisfied!
