PAINTING • PASTELS

I was very fortunate to have grown up in a home where interest in the arts was highly encouraged. Although not a wealthy family, my parents took full advantage of all the cultural opportunities that New York City had to offer me and my sisters.. at little or no cost!

My earliest interest was in theater (I attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and later majored in theater in college), painting and drawing were always part of my creative expression and eventually became my primary focus.

Although I am self taught as a painter, I credit my willingness to experiment, learn and fail as the reason I have become an internationally recognized artist, teacher and author of "Soft Pastel - The Ultimate Workshop." Working predominantly in soft pastel and oil, my work can be found in corporate and private collections in the US, Europe and Asia.

My goal has always been to create art that is not a slave to passing whims and trends, rather, art that continuously provides the viewer with a joyful experience.

I am currently exhibiting in The Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville as well as 80Six Gallery in Tryon, NC.
