My love and respect for the natural world began as a young child growing up in northwestern Pennsylvania. As an avid outdoorsman I have eagerly explored the mountains of Colorado and the wilderness in Montana which has given me a greater understanding of nature. These experiences have provided the inspiration for much of my art.
My oil on canvas paintings are realistic in style and a palette knife is often used to add character and enhance detail. “Mother Nature created most of my favorite subjects and I have a special interest in painting landscapes, wildlife, and figure studies. I credit my mother with my artistic gift. Her wisdom and encouragement and creative spirit have been cherished throughout my life.
During my journey as an artist I have been deeply influenced by my experiences at the Julia Peters Studio.
For the last four decades I have called Greenville my home. I continue to hope my paintings capture and bring awareness and appreciation of the beauty of our world, and the need to preserve and protect it!
