Bob Santanello is April’s featured artist. A large selection of his work is available and hung on the front walls of the gallery. We invite the public to stop in and see his oil paintings and meet the artist during the First Friday event at the gallery. Hours of the reception are 6-8, Friday, April 7th from 6-8 pm.
Bob shares the following information about his inspiration and work.
“My love and respect for the natural world began as a young child growing up in northwestern Pennsylvania. As an avid outdoorsman I have eagerly explored the mountains of Colorado and the wilderness in Montana which has given me a greater understanding of nature. These experiences have provided the inspiration for much of my art.
My oil on canvas paintings are realistic in style and a palette knife is often used to add character and enhance detail. Mother Nature created most of my favorite subjects and I have a special interest in painting landscapes, wildlife, and figure studies. I credit my mother with my artistic gift. Her wisdom and encouragement and creative spirit have been cherished throughout my life.
During my journey as an artist I have been deeply influenced by my experiences at the Julia Peters Studio.
For the last four decades I have called Greenville my home. I continue to hope my paintings capture and bring awareness and appreciation of the beauty of our world, and the need to preserve and protect it!”
